On 7 June 2015, Sir Bradley Wiggins broke Alex Dowsett's record, by completing a distance of 54.526 km (33.881 mi) at the Lee Valley VeloPark in London. This is considered to be the most prestigious records in cycling as has in the past been by nine other than Eddy Merckx.
